New Investment in Machinery & addition of 2 New Staff Members at Printing.ie
Posted in General by admin | Tags: business investment, Graphic design, large format printing, new jobs, new machinery, new staff, printing, printing requirements, printing.ie, web developmentWith all the doom and gloom in business today it is refreshing to hear a good news story relating to an Irish business. Printing.ie, based in the 4park Business Centre in Farranfore, Co. Kerry, has just announced the addition of 2 new full time staff members in its state of the art premises, as well as an investment of €50,000 in new printing machinery. Stephen O’Sullivan, the owner and Managing Director, has been in business for 14 years, and took the bold decision to invest in a new business premises at a time where most people were happy to hold what they had.
Today, 14 months after moving into his new premises in Farranfore, Stephen has had to take on 2 new full time staff to help with the expanding work load and client base that he has been able to grow both through working closely with local businesses but also by utilising his fantastic printing website www.printing.ie. Printing.ie is Ireland’s largest online shop for printing requirements, servicing a client base from all around Ireland. While most printers have their closing times and are off at weekends at www.printing.ie customers have the convenience of shopping securely online at a time and place that best suits them.
As well as the recent addition of 2 new full time staff, that now takes the number of employees to 10, Stephen has also invested in the latest printing technology to help meet the demands of an ever increasing client base. His recent investment totals €50,000, and will see production capacity at our Farranfore premises increase significantly.
The reason for all this at a time economic uncertainty is simple as Stephen explains;
“Our business is split across printing, graphic design, large format printing and website development. We have diversified over the years so when one sector goes down another sector may increase so we can concentrate on developing this sector further and we can react to the marketplace better with the mix of services we offer. Our new HP printer is the most environmentally friendly printing solution on the market. This is a huge selling point especially when we use recycled material we can offer a truly green product which is a big plus today.
We are looking to add a further 10 jobs in the next stage of our expansion in 2011. These jobs will be created in the website development and wide format printing sectors of the business.”

I dug these images out of the archives. They are from when we opened our Killarney office in 2003. Jackie Lavin and Bill Cullen from TV3’s “The Apprentice” were kind enough to do the honours and perform the official opening. The extra space from this new office move allowed us to enter the wide format printing marketplace. Also pictured are Stephen and Sinead O’Sullivan, directors of the company.

Do you know if your brochure is working? How much business are your brochures bringing in? Often people spend a lot of money on advertising and never see the result, or aren’t sure if it’s having any result. What a shame!
One obvious way to find out if your marketing is working is to ASK. “Hey, how did you hear about us?” is all it takes. People love to tell their stories and will be ever-so-impressed that you’re showing an interest - and they won’t forget it. Another clever way to find out what marketing is working is to tempt your new customers with an offer in your brochure - one that they have to ask about. This way you’ll know what’s reeling ‘em in, and more importantly, how to get the most for your money.
